Lou Loeber is niet gelovig, maar socialiste in hart en nieren. Toch schildert ze net als veel andere kunstenaars in het Gooi het 15de-eeuwse Johanneskerkje. Ze heeft het kerkje met de ingang onder de klokkentoren sterk vereenvoudigd weergegeven in geometrische kleurvlakken. De vlakken onderscheidt ze van elkaar met verticale en diagonale lijnen die de statige compositie levendiger maakt. In eerste opslag lijkt de compositie symmetrisch, maar kijk eens goed, zijn de linker- en de rechterhelft echt aan elkaar gelijk?
De zichtbare werkelijkheid blijft Loebers uitgangspunt en die is ook altijd herkenbaar in haar voorstellingen. Volledig abstracte kunst vindt ze te elitair. Loeber vindt dat kunst juist voor iedereen begrijpelijk en toegankelijk moet zijn. Ze verkoopt haar werk daarom aan huis en houdt haar schilderijen betaalbaar door er meerdere exemplaren van te maken. Ook drukt ze grafiek in oplage.

All prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Alpha Cellulose matboard, using an acid-free linen tape. The mat's surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conservation quality foam-core mounting board that will keep the work safe from deterioration over time. Artworks with a deckled or decorative edges will be floated on the matboard, with acrylic spacers to separate the art from the glazing. All mounting is fully reversible, without any potential damage to the art.

Louise Maria (Lou) wurde am 3. Mai in Amsterdam geboren, als ältestes von sieben Kindern des Papierfabrikanten Gerhard Loeber () und seiner Frau Charlotte geborene Landré (). Sie wächst in großbürgerlicher Umgebung in einem liberal protestantischen Elternhaus auf und hat zusammen mit ihren Geschwistern eine unbeschwerte Jugend.
Umzug nach Blaricum, Provinz Nordholland, in die vom Vater erbaute Villa »Zonnenhoef« auf dem Gelände des Landgutes »Jagtlust« der Großeltern Landré. Der Vater kauft Kunstwerke und pflegt Bekanntschaft mit den Freilicht-Künstlern aus dem nahegelegenen Künstlerdorf Laren. Er selbst entwirft Tapeten, Deckenmalereien und Buntglasfenster. Durch Atelierbesuche und Ausstellungen entwickelt Lou eigene künstlerische Ambitionen. Ihre Schwestern Miep und Lot spielen Klavier, der Bruder Jan Cello, Lou selbst spielt Violine.
