Parvathamma Rajkumar put on assisted ventilation

Bengaluru, May 09, The condition of Parvathamma Rajkumar, wife of the late Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar, who was admitted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital on May 14 for weakness, is stable.
Hospital president Naresh Shetty said she had difficulty in breathing on Wednesday night and was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). “She is on assisted ventilation and her vitals are within normal limits, except for her renal parameters, which are slightly deranged,” he said.
According to doctors attending to her, Ms. Parvathamma, 78, was treated for malignancy a few years back and now has metastasis (the development of secondary malignant growths at a distance from a primary site of cancer).
She is on constant monitoring by a team of doctors comprising chief physician Sanjay Kulkarni, senior intensivist Ratna, intensivist Deepak, medical oncologist Nalini Kilara and nephrologist Mahesh.

'ಡಾ ರಾಜ್ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾರ್ವತಮ್ಮನವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಪೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಣ್ಣಾವ್ರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ನಟಿ ಆಪ್ತರಾಗಲು ಪಾರ್ವತಮ್ಮನವರು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಕೆಲವು ನಟಿಯರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾರ್ವತಮ್ಮನವರು ಹದ್ದಿನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಪಾರ್ವತಮ್ಮನವರು ಡಾ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾವಲು ಕಾದಂತೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಲ್ಲಿ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾರೆ' ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು, ಈಗಲೂ ಇದೆ.

'ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ' ಎಂಬ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅವರು ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೇ ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Parvathamma Rajkumar, Kannada actor Rajkumar&#;s wife dies, donate her eyes
Parvathamma Rajkumar (78), a veteran Kannada film producer and distributor, passed away early on Wednesday at a private hospital in Bengaluru, said its spokesperson. &#;Parvathamma died at a.m., due to cardiac arrest after her blood pressure dropped since Tuesday night,&#; M.S. Ramaiah Hospital spokesperson Prakash told IANS.
&#;Her eyes have been donated to Narayana Nethralaya with the family&#;s consent, as were Rajkumar&#;s soon after he passed away in ,&#; said a source in the hospital.
Parvathamma, the widow of Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar, is survived by three sons and two daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and grand-children.
&#;A cancer patient, Parvathamma was admitted to the hospital on May 14, and was on ventilator for the last 12 days due to multiple organ failure after the malignancy spread to her lungs and liver,&#; said Prakash.

Parvathamma is like a parvatha (mountain). Her duties and achievements were as great as Himalaya mountains (Himalaya Parvatha). She lived a very good life. It is really sad that she is no more. Can’t believe the news yet, said actress Leelavathi.
Leelavathi is said to be close to Dr Rajkumar, the closeness had even left Parvathamma worried. But after many years now, Leelavathi paid her last respects to Parvathamma and told that she is a woman of strength and every woman in Karnataka should consider her a model and learn a lesson or two from her life.

She broke down while speaking and said that the sons should have taken her to a better hospital, may be to Singapur. “I believe that she could have been cured in a better hospital.
