Almarhum menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya di RSCM Paviliun Kencana, Jakarta Pusat, pada Minggu, 17 Desember pukul WIB dan di makamkan di TMP Kalibata pada siang harinya. Wakil Presiden RI ke, Budiono bertindak sebagai inspektur upacara pelepasan di rumah duka dan Mensesneg Pratikno sebagai inspektur upacara di TMP Kalibata.
