Lanny Ebenstein
Dr. Lanny Ebenstein is the author of many books and articles, and is an expert on Milton Friedman. He won critical acclaim from the Financial Times, The Economist, LibraryJournal, and the Chicago Sun-Times for the first-ever biography of Friedman, titled MiltonFriedman: A Biography. In addition, Dr. Ebenstein wrote the first-ever biography of Friedrich Hayek.
Dr. Ebenstein has been featured on C-SPAN’s Booknotes, and his work has also appeared in National Review, the Los Angeles Times, and many other academic and popular journals.
Dr. Ebenstein received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his doctorate from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Currently, Dr. Ebenstein teaches at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is an adjunct scholar at the CATO Institute. He also hosts a radio show and is an editorialist for the Santa Barbara News-Press.
Dr. Ebenstein resides in Santa Barbara, California, where he served two terms on the Board of Education.

Lanny Ebenstein, Santa Barbara’s long-serving education and economics buff, recently published a sweeping article called “The Rise of UCSB” in Noticias, the journal of the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.
