I was never interested in fame &#; Kofi Sarpong
Ghanaian Gospel musician, Kofi Sarpong, has shared how he was forced to venture into music.
According to him, fame was never a priority to him considering his kind of job as a police officer.
He recounts giving his current manager an incredibly tough time before finally agreeing to go into music.
Narrating his success story on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning with KMJ, he stated how he declined his manager, Kwesi Ernest's proposal to go to the studio after a performance at a church. He said it was due to his passion for police work.
“I declined outrightly and told him, ‘you heard my name as deputy superintendent of police. How could that be possible?’ And for me, I love the police. If I’m working and I’m not paid, it would be enough for me. I also wasn’t ready to leave the police. But he persevered.”
According to him, his manager wouldn’t leave him alone and went ahead to send multiple people to his doorstep to convince him until he obliged.

These were the words of celebrated police officer and musician, Chief Superintendent Kofi Sarpong as he opens up on his two professions.
According to him, the journey began after his enlistment into the Ghana Police Depot in Koforidua.
As newbies yet to go through training, they knew little about each other but there was the need for leaders to be appointed among them.
&#;The day for us to commence our training finally came and we boarded a bus to Koforidua.
&#;On our way, a colleague whose name was first on the list looked me in the eyes and told me I&#;ll be the chaplain, a role I couldn&#;t fathom why it was bestowed on me but I accepted in good faith,&#; He told Afia Amankwa Tamakloe on M&#;ashyase3 show.
However, things, he said, didn&#;t go as expected since most of the recruits went to town to fellowship in their various churches.

Gospel singer ACP Kofi Sarpong shares touching story of struggles as he graduates from GIMPA
Ghanaian gospel singer ACP Kofi Sarpong has bagged a first degree from The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
He was a part of the 22nd Congregation of GIMPA who studied Public Administration and was awarded first-class honors in Public Administration.
The musician, who has risen through the rank and file of the Ghana Police Service, and was recently promoted to ACP took to his Instagram page to share the news with fans and followers.
He wrote:Ladies & Gentlemen, your Assistant Commissioner of Police with a 1st Class in BSc. Public Administration from #GIMPA @gimpa_greenhill. Thank you JESUS!!.
