Someone has attributed the work to Georg Pencz on the back, and this is understandable considering the rather similar engraving after Pencz of the same topic, from between and This copy comes from the Metmuseum.
But the work is actually a copy after an engraving by Philips Galle after a work by Maarten van Heemskerck from , with the exact same composition and dimensions. This copy is from the British Museum. It seems probable that Van Heemskerck was inspired by the Pencz engraving though.
The estimated value is probably about right, as such images still appeal to a modern taste and not too many old painted copies of this work are known.
UPDATE: sold for 1, Euro.
UPDATE 2: again for sale, now at Leo Spikon 5 December , with same description and estimate of 2, Euro.
CODART, Dutch and Flemish art in museums worldwide
The Frans Hals Museum, Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar and Teylers Museum are organizing the first major retrospective exhibition on Maarten van Heemskerck. With 50 paintings, 16 drawings and 68 prints by Heemskerck, the museums offer a representative impression of Van Heemskerck’s large body of work, in this exhibition at three locations. No fewer than half the paintings attributed to the artist will be brought together in the Netherlands.
Maarten van Heemskerck at the Frans Hals Museum
Maarten van Heemskerck was one of the most successful, innovative artists of the Northern Netherlands in the sixteenth century. In his lifetime, he saw the advent of Protestantism, new technology and the rise of the Dutch Republic. The changes that happened around him are reflected in his work: before it had been the Church, now burghers also patronized the arts, the impact of the Italian Renaissance reverberated in Holland and artists longed to see the art of Antiquity and their famous Italian contemporaries with their own eyes, while the iconoclastic cleansing of the churches brought a violent end to church art in the Northern Netherlands.

Maarten van Heemskerck () produced designs for a set of engravings, showing eight, rather than the usual seven wonders of the ancient world.
His addition to the conventional list was the Colosseum in Rome, which, unlike the others, he showed in ruins, as it was in his own time, with the speculative addition of a giant statue of Jupiter in the centre.

Maarten van Heemskerck (ENGLISH)
Maarten van Heemskerck () is one of the most important northern-Netherlandish artists of the sixteenth century. His earliest paintings already testify to his masterful creativity and originality and a period spent in Rome in / would define his further career. The antique art and masterpieces of Italian artists like Michelangelo and Raphael that he saw there made a deep impression on him, fuelling a radical change in his style and themes. Having returned to Haarlem in , Heemskerck developed into a leading proponent of the Renaissance in the northern Netherlands.
The painter lived in turbulent times. Iconoclastic rioting and the revolt against Spanish rule put an end to traditional art for churches and monasteries in the northern Netherlands, while the wealthy bourgeoisie emerged as a new target group. Thanks to Heemskerck, printmaking also flourished as a new artistic medium capable of reaching broader swathes of the population. This book is the first to describe Heemskerck’s life and work in relation to one another against the backdrop of changing social conditions and sweeping historical events.
